Mate, you forgot to edit the recovery mode key combination in the What is a Soft-Brick section, its only Home Power button for S5830.

Still able to boot into recovery (Volume UpHomePower) and download mode (Volume DownHomePower).

Managed to soft brick my wifes old Ace, probably from following the wrong guide somehow.

But when I try to load the tar.md5 file in Odin, it crashes (see pic) Any ideas Im running Windows 8 if that matters.
